May 16 2024 Rhode Island College Professor Peter Karibe Mendy, Author of the Ohio Series book titled Amilcar Cabral, visited with Angelo Barbosa, Director of Bridgewater State University's Pedro Pires Institute for Cape Verdean Studies. What a great honor to hear Dr. Mendy said that what we've done with this museum and cultural center is "remarkable"! Angelo echos that sentiment every time he visits.

May 17 2024 Jim Barros, member and former resident of Falmouth who now lives on Nantucket said, once again, that this is an "incredible accomplishment" for such a small group to have done with such little help and so few funds. (it reminds us of Anthropologist Margaret Mead's quote "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.")

Every Spring the Board of Directors of the CCCVMCC travel to all 4 Elementary schools in Falmouth to give presentations to the youth in the after school programs.

The Smithsonian in Washington, DC celebrated The Republic of Cape Verde's 20th Anniversary - Independence was gained from Portugal on
July 5, 1975

"Nana's Kitchen" represents what was predominantly the way of life for Cape Verdean immigrants 100 years ago.
